Guardian Homes
We utilize guardian homes for our program!
𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚊 𝚐𝚞𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚒𝚊𝚗 𝚑𝚘𝚖𝚎? A guardian home for 𝑜𝑢𝑟 program is a 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 home for a very special and hand picked dog we want to add to our program. Our guardian homes add these pups, 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑔𝑒, to their family. Our guardians go through an extensive screening process, are responsible for all care - including food, grooming, and all non reproductive related vet visits/bills.
When it’s time for the dog to be bred or have puppies, they come to my house to be spoiled! Once the dog “retires,” all ownership and paperwork is transferred to the dogs guardian/forever family! Our guardian families are a part of the The W Dood team and we are so thankful for them.
𝚆𝚑𝚢 𝚍𝚘 𝚠𝚎 𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚐𝚞𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚒𝚊𝚗 𝚑𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚜? Easy! A dog should be a pet, 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡! Everyone knows the more time and attention a dog receives, the better the development of the dog, and the more happiness in its life! We do not use kennels for our dogs, and all live indoors in a family setting. My couch can only fit so many dogs and there are so many 𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑡𝑦 couches out there that would be the perfect place for one of my program dogs to live! It’s just a matter of finding those homes, and people, that are willing to work with my program! Please read the requirements below and apply if you think you would be a good fit!
Of course you may e-mail with 𝑎𝑛𝑦 questions or talk with some of my guardians to really get a feel for what it’s like being a part of our team!
1) Must live within 45 minutes of area code 37379.
2) Must have a fenced in yard. (Or approved leashed potty & exercise routine.)
3) Have excellent communication & a team mindset!
4) Must be willing and able to train and socialize the dog. Must sign up for at least one puppy class during the first year. Must keep the dog well mannered at all times.
5) Prepared to pay for professional grooming and keep them on a proper grooming schedule.
6) Must be able to pay for nutritional dog food and all vet visits not pertaining to breeding.
7) Have no other intact dogs in the home unless approved by The W Doods.
8) Must send monthly update with pictures.
